A Day in Cotton with Chictopia »

Coat from L.K. Bennett, second-hand jeans, top from H&M, shoes from Choies

Hope you're all well! Sorry I haven't been around as much. I've been very busy with lots of fun work-related things forNSMBL and I've been out seeing my friends a lot, which is doing me good. While before a was always looking for excuses not to go out and do things, I've really become a bit of a Yes Man, which is a lifestyle A-Line Prom Dress that's treating me well. I'd almost say YOLO, but of course I won't say YOLO.

My dear friend Kim Janssen is going a tour in Germany soon, I love his music and I think you will too. If you're in Germany, check out the tour dates over here.

I teamed up with Chictopia to do this post on "My (Adventurous) Day in Cotton." Friend Annah, (who is not pictured) and I headed out to Fisgard Lighthouse for an oceanside day of delight. I was very grateful to be wearing this light 1960's day dress that I snagged on Etsy... for it was a very hot day, despite the refreshing sea breeze.view

As my readers know, I am a fan of - see: perpetually in - vintage dresses. With all of the era silhouettes and colours, I love browsing the vintage dress section on Chictopia for inspiration with styling!

A few days before I moved, I snapped some outfit photos at my job with a friend and co-worker. Caitlin is lovey, well-dressed, and a talented artist to boot! She constructed me this cute sign for our farewell photo shoot.

I am not huge on dressing for summer weather. I'm happy in a sundress, but trying to throw on blouses when it's sweltering and humid isn't much fun. Maybe this is an opportunity to get better at dressing for hot weather... or maybe I'll just hide in the shade!
I purchased this lovely pastel blue dress from Etsy. Of course, I shortened it and cuffed the sleeves, giving it a shape I find more flattering. I'm really into the lace applique - doily details forever. Everything else I'm wearing is a mad thrifting score - I love the satchel-esque purse! And these 1970's heels are so comfortable - genuine leather and made in Canada.

I've been playing with the manual setting on my camera and think my photos are improving! My photographer friends have been telling me to use manual for months, but sometimes I am slow on the uptake...

I'm saying goodbye to the city I've lived in for the last six years after next week. We have had some good times and some not so good times. After finishing up my degree here, it feels time to move on. When you're not sure of which direction to go, the best thing to do is step forward.
